Leona Charles has been appointed the new SMECO supplier diversity program manager and one of her assignments is to increase the number of diverse suppliers doing business with SMECO including increasing the participation by local businesses in the Southern Maryland Region. Leona moves into a role previously held by Tom Tudor, long time SMECO employee and advocate and champion for small business development. Leona is a resident of Charles County and a small business owner, so she understands the needs and challenges that business owners face.
