Julie Oberg, Director of the Calvert Department of Economic Development sent this information and request. For those who are familiar, the Calvert County Minority Business Alliance and the Calvert NAACP have been advocating for a Local Preference program for many years.
The Calvert County – Procurement – Local Preference bill (HB0835) hearing is set for next Tuesday, February 20 in the Maryland House Health and Government Operations Committee.
If you would like to testify and/or submit written testimony, the window to do so will be this Friday, February 16 from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
