PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – It is with great sadness that the Board of County Commissioners learned of the passing of former County Commissioner Michael Moore (1990-1994).
On behalf of the entire Calvert County community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Commissioner Moore during this difficult time. He most recently served on the Calvert County Housing Task Force which is charged with addressing affordable housing for all.
After his work as commissioner, he continued to serve our community on the boards of local nonprofit organizations and as a veteran member of the American Legion Gray Ray Post 220. As a longtime member of the Concerned Black Men of Calvert County board of directors, he was particularly passionate about mentoring and empowering Black youth on a pathway to success. Commissioner Moore was a pillar in the community and his presence and legacy will leave a lasting impression for years to come in our community. We are proud to call you our friend.
