Protection from Scams & Financial Fraud
The Calvert County Commission for Women and Calvert Library will host its second financial literacy forum on ways to protect your household from scams and financial fraud. The forum will address the basics of how to recover from scams and financial fraud and ways to prevent con artists from lifting your personal identity and hard-earned assets.
According to the Bureau of Justice, an estimated 17.6 million United States residents were the victim of identity theft in 2014. However, few victims report identity theft to the police. BEWARE and REPORT incidents like a recent phone call stating that the Internal Revenue Service is auditing you .
Join us for light refreshments while learning how to identify and protect yourself from con artists who want to take advantage of you.
